This work entitled "Breathless" was created with the goal of increasing awareness for Obstructive Sleep Apnea with Sleep Neuroscientist and OSA patient, Miranda Chappel-Farley, PhD. I painted her likeness wearing her APAP (Automatic Positive Airway Pressure) machine and over the month of March (Sleep Apnea Awareness Month) we shared videos of the painting process with a question of the day on Twitter and Instagram. This outreach project helped highlight both her as a scientist and her experience from diagnoses to daily life as a OSA patient, as well as shed light on why disabled perspectives are important in STEM, please click through the images that link our Twitter Discussion.
